How to change the PDM client from Professional to Standard

The default selected PDM Client in the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager is PDM Professional.

To change this, edit the SOLIDWORKS PDM Options on the Summary page of the installation manager:

This can also be changed after installation by modifying of the installation. Run the Installation Manager again, and select Modify.

Sometimes the registry is not updated properly with the change. If you experience this, you can change from PDM Professional to PDM Standard in the Regedit.

Go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\Applications\PDMWorks Enterprise\ConisioAdmin\Servers\(server name)\FileVaults\(vault name)

If you cannot find the last part of the string: (server name)\FileVaults\(vault name), the PDM Client has not been connected to any vault yet.

To resolve this issue, you must first connect the PDM Client to a vault. (This will not change the installed version from PDM Professional to PDM Standard, but it will create the necessary folders so that you can edit the value below)

In the (vault name) folder, change the value for ‘VaultType’ to 1.

Value 0 = Professional

Value 1 = Standard
