With all these versions of SOLIDWORKS nowadays (SOLIDWORKS Desktop, SOLIDWORKS Connected, SOLIDWORKS Cloud) you might find yourself confused about what version of SOLIDWORKS you are using.
This short guide will help you to identify your version of SOLIDWORKS.
First, we start by eliminating SOLIDWORKS Cloud, if you have a native installation (the program is installed as SOLIDWORKS on your PC), you are not using the SOLIDWORKS Cloud version.
Finding out the version of SOLIDWORKS that launches correctly
If your SOLIDWORKS is working, finding out the version is rather simple, just launch your SOLIDWORKS and head to the top right corner of the software.
The version is displayed on the first row of the pop-up window, SOLIDWORKS Desktop-version will simply display SOLIDWORKS <Product> <Version> <Service Pack>, while SOLIDWORKS Connected will display that it is the Connected version of SOLIDWORKS as seen above.
Finding out the version of SOLIDWORKS that is not working correctly
If you are having issues with launching your SOLIDWORKS application, but still have it installed on your computer you can find the version of your SOLIDWORKS product from your Windows machine installed programs list:
