PLM Group technical support may ask you to record network traffic events using the Fiddler Classic software. This is necessary, for example, when a specific issue is suspected to be related to the network connection.
Record the network traffic that occurs during the issue using Fiddler Classic by following these instructions:
1. Download Fiddler Classic from THIS LINK and install the software.
2. Launch the Fiddler Classic application and enable the following settings under Tools > Options: "Capture HTTPS CONNECTs" and "Decrypt HTTPS traffic.". The program may prompt you to install a missing certificate. Install the certificate as shown in the image below.
3. The program will now begin capturing network traffic events. Reproduce the issue you have been discussing with PLM Group technical support.
Note: You can also filter the traffic to only capture events generated by a specific application/process. To do this, click and hold the left mouse button on the “Any process” tab, move the mouse cursor over the desired application window (e.g., SOLIDWORKS), and release the mouse button. The “Any process” tab will then display the identifier of the selected process, and only that process’s events will appear in the event list.
4. After reproducing the issue, save the session via File > Save > All Sessions to a folder on your computer. Send the saved .saz file to the PLM Group support representative upon request.
